Darden Towe Pickleball Courts
The first public dedicated courts (6) were created at Darden Towe in 2021. Rapid growth of the sport has continued and in March 2025 the Darden Towe Park Committee approved the renovation of the courts for 12 dedicated pickleball courts.
Project scope: The Foundation has partnered with the Central Virginia Pickleball Club (CEVA Pickleball) to raise the monies for the renovation. Individual player donations, community businesses, pickleball programming and an upcoming silent auction to be held Sept 20 - Oct 4 are all ways that the money is being raised. The ACPF pickleball courts committee is actively working with our strategic partner, CEVA Pickleball, to raise funds. The ACPF Project Lead is Teddy Hamilton. Any questions regarding this project can be directed to her at teddyhamilton59@gmail.com.
Benefits: The current courts see heavy use 7 days a week, and there is a pressing need for additional courts. 12 courts will help to alleviate court use congestion and also provide sufficient courts for the hosting of tournaments and other events that will draw people to the area.
Important to Note: There are now thousands of pickleball players in our area, with only 6 public dedicated pickleball courts at Darden Towe.
Costs: The project cost is $75,000. As of August 18, $33,000 has been raised for the courts. To donate to this current, ongoing project, please go to our donation page. If you would like to donate an item to our auction, please contact Teddy Hamilton at teddyhamilton59@gmail.com.
